Alcove Carbon Reduction Plan

Introduction

Alcove Care Tech is committed to sustainability and actively working to reduce our carbon footprint. As part of our environmental responsibility, we have developed a Carbon Reduction Plan (CRP) that aligns with our goal of maintaining net-zero carbon emissions. This plan outlines our current emissions data, the measures we are taking to reduce our carbon footprint, and our strategies for offsetting any remaining emissions.

Emissions Data

Scope 1 and Scope 2 Emissions:

Our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions include direct emissions from owned or controlled sources and indirect emissions from the generation of purchased energy consumed by Alcove. For the current reporting year:

  • Baseline Emissions (Year 2023): 26.941 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO₂)
  • Current Year Emissions (Year 2024): 34.896 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO₂)

Scope 3 Emissions:

In addition to Scope 1 and Scope 2, we are also tracking and reporting Scope 3 emissions for the following measures:

  1. Upstream Transport & Distribution: Emissions associated with the transportation and distribution of goods and services before they reach Alcove’s operational boundaries.

  2. Waste Generated in Operations: Emissions from the waste produced as a result of our business activities.

  3. Business Travel: Emissions from business-related travel, including air, rail, and road travel.

  4. Employee Commuting: Emissions resulting from our employees commuting to and from work.

  5. Downstream Transport & Distribution: Emissions associated with the transportation and distribution of goods and services after they leave Alcove’s operational boundaries.

Carbon Reduction Targets

Alcove is dedicated to continuously improving our carbon management practices. Our overarching goal is to maintain net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. However, we achieve net-zero emissions annually through various carbon offset initiatives, such as planting trees to absorb the CO₂ we generate.

Annual Targets:

  • Continue to reduce Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by implementing energy-efficient practices, reducing waste, optimizing transport routes, and promoting sustainable business travel and employee commuting options.
  • Offset remaining emissions each year by planting trees and investing in other carbon sequestration projects.

Carbon Offset Initiatives

To balance our carbon emissions, we engage in tree planting programs, which are a natural and effective way to absorb CO₂ from the atmosphere. These initiatives help us achieve our net-zero target each year by directly offsetting the emissions that we produce.

Reporting and Transparency

This Carbon Reduction Plan is published on the Alcove website, ensuring transparency and accessibility. We are committed to reviewing and updating this plan annually to reflect our progress, adjust our strategies, and ensure we remain on track to meet our long-term carbon reduction goals.
