Alcove's Virtual Care Agency
Helping people stay safe, well and independent at home
Alcove’s Virtual Care Agency provides scheduled care and wellbeing support through video calls, helping older and vulnerable people remain safe, connected and independent at home.
Designed as a scalable alternative to some traditional domiciliary care visits, the service combines trained virtual carers, Alcove’s Video Carephone technology, proactive wellbeing checks and clear escalation pathways. It supports Local Authorities, NHS partners and care providers to deliver more responsive care while reducing pressure on overstretched frontline services.
A new model of care
Traditional domiciliary care often relies on scheduled physical visits, whether or not support is needed at that moment. This can be expensive, inflexible and difficult to scale, particularly where the need is reassurance, medication prompting, social contact or wellbeing monitoring.
Alcove’s Virtual Care Agency offers a more flexible model. Our trained team delivers scheduled virtual visits, medication prompts, isolation calls and wellbeing checks, identifying concerns early and escalating where needed.

Why it works
Virtual care does not replace human care — it extends it. By using technology to deliver the right support at the right time, Alcove helps people receive more frequent contact, earlier intervention and greater reassurance without every interaction requiring a physical visit.
The service is particularly effective for lower-level support, rural areas, workforce pressures and situations where regular human contact can prevent deterioration.

Human care, delivered differently
At its heart, Alcove’s Virtual Care Agency is about people. Technology enables the connection, but our trained care team provides the reassurance, empathy and judgement that vulnerable people need.
Virtual care is not a replacement for care. It is a smarter, more flexible way to deliver the right care, at the right time, in the right way.
